The Learning Express (LeX2025) program, a collaboration between King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and Singapore Polytechnic, was held from March 31 to April 11, 2025, at KMITL Prince of Chumphon Campus. During the first week, students participated in a cultural immersion program through a homestay experience in Siapyuan Village, Chumphon Province.

They engaged with local community members, observed daily life, and identified real-life challenges faced by the villagers. Using the design thinking process, students worked in international teams to analyze their findings, generate ideas, and begin planning their prototype solutions. This experience provided valuable insights into community-based problem solving, while also encouraging cross-cultural collaboration and teamwork.

During the final week of LeX2025, students from KMITL and Singapore Polytechnic focused on developing and finalizing their community-based solutions. The week began with hands-on prototyping, where teams built and refined their concepts with guidance from facilitators and experts. Through continuous testing and constructive feedback, each team enhanced their prototypes and prepared for the final showcase. On April 9, students presented their completed solutions to community stakeholders, receiving valuable feedback and engaging in meaningful discussions. In addition to their academic efforts, participants took part in a mangrove reforestation activity, contributing to environmental sustainability and strengthening their connection to the local community. The program concluded with a heartfelt farewell celebration, which included a joyful Songkran cultural exchange, where students experienced Thailand’s traditional New Year festivities. The closing ceremony marked not only the end of a successful academic collaboration but also the beginning of lasting cross-cultural friendships and shared memories.

กิจกรรม The Learning Express (LeX2025)

กิจกรรมที่เกิดขึ้นภายใต้ความร่วมมือระหว่างสถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง และ Singapore Polytechnic, ประเทศสิงคโปร์  จัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 31 มีนาคม ถึง 11 เมษายน 2568 ณ สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง วิทยาเขตชุมพรเขตรอุดมศักดิ์ มีนักศึกษาเข้าร่วมทั้งหมด 60 คน เป็นนักศึกษาจาก Singapore Polytechnic 30 คน นักศึกษา สจล. 30 คน

ในช่วงสัปดาห์แรกของกิจกรรมนักศึกษาได้ศึกษาเรียนรู้วัฒนธรรมผ่านประสบการณ์การเยี่ยมชมโฮมสเตย์ในหมู่บ้านเสียบยวน จังหวัดชุมพร ได้มีส่วนร่วมกับสมาชิกในชุมชนท้องถิ่น สังเกตชีวิตประจำวัน และระบุปัญหาในชีวิตจริงของชาวบ้าน นักศึกษาจะได้ทำงานในทีมร่วมกันระหว่างนักศึกษาไทยและนักศึกษาสิงคโปร์ โดยใช้กระบวนการคิดเชิงออกแบบ (Design Thinking) เพื่อวิเคราะห์สิ่งที่ได้พบเห็นและปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นในชุมชน สร้างแนวคิด และเริ่มวางแผนสร้างต้นแบบอุปกรณ์ หรือวิธีการแก้ปัญหาให้แก่ชุมชน เพื่อให้ชาวบ้านได้นำไปปรับใช้ในอนาคต

ในสัปดาห์สุดท้ายของกิจกรรม นักศึกษาจะเริ่มนำปัญหาที่พบจากชุมชนมาหาทางแก้ไข และสร้างต้นแบบขึ้นให้เป็นรูปเป็นร่างมากขึ้น ด้วยการสร้างและปรับปรุงแนวคิด โดยได้รับคำแนะนำจากวิทยากรและผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากทางสิงคโปร์ และไทย ผ่านการทดสอบอย่างต่อเนื่องและให้ข้อเสนอแนะที่เป็นประโยชน์ เพื่อแต่ละทีมจะได้นำไปปรับปรุงต้นแบบของตนเองและเตรียมพร้อมสำหรับการนำเสนอ วิธีแก้ปัญหาที่ครบถ้วนแก่ผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียในชุมชน โดยได้รับผลตอบรับที่มีคุณค่า และมีส่วนร่วมในการอภิปราย

นอกเหนือจากกิจกรรมด้านวิชาการแล้ว ผู้เข้าร่วมยังมีส่วนร่วมในกิจกรรมปลูกป่าชายเลน ซึ่งมีส่วนช่วยในการพัฒนาสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างยั่งยืนและกระชับความสัมพันธ์ของนักศึกษากับชุมชนท้องถิ่น ปิดท้ายด้วยการเฉลิมฉลองเทศกาลสงกรานต์อย่างสนุกสนานร่วมกัน กิจกรรม The Learning Express ไม่เพียงแต่ประสบความสำเร็จในด้านวิชาการเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของมิตรภาพข้ามวัฒนธรรมที่ยั่งยืนและความทรงจำที่มีร่วมกันอีกด้วย
