Honorary Doctorate awarded to Prof. Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat November 1, 2017 Tokai University has awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Engineering to Professor Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, President of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL). The relationship between Tokai University and KMITL began in 1965, when four Thai students studied abroad at Tokai. In the nearly 50 years since then, over 500 Thai students have studied at Tokai, and the two institutions have been working cooperatively to develop Asian higher education as well as conducting joint research and student volunteer activities. The award ceremony was held on Oct 31, 2017, at the Global AGORA on Shonan Campus, with around 30 faculty and staff from Tokai and KMITL in attendance. President Suchatvee received his honorary degree from Tokai Vice President Jiro Takano along with a commemorative medal from Tokai Chancellor Kiyoshi Yamada. President Suchatvee commented, “Tokai University and KMITL have collaborated to help develop higher education in Asia. Our collaborative efforts, including in research and the exchange of students and staff under our agreement for academic cooperation, continue to this day year-after-year.”
