Office of International Affairs, together with WNI Wx Bunka Foundation, Japan, organized a special lecture on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in weather forecasting, giving KMITL students an opportunity to learn from experts in the field.
The program opened with welcoming remarks by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pitcha Prasitmeeboon, Vice President for International Affairs. The lecture was led by Mr. Chihito Kusabiraki, Chairman and CEO of Weathernews Inc. and Vice President of the WNI Wx Bunka Foundation, together with Mr. Hirokazu Koro and the Weathernews team.
During the session, students explored how AI is used to forecast changes in wind, clouds, and weather conditions. The speakers introduced AI fundamentals, forecasting models and tools, data collection and analysis, satellite-based temperature estimation, and shared valuable insights to help students prepare for the “Satellite Data Contest 2026.”
