KMITL has partnered with Fort Argo to launch the Thailand–Russia Cocoa Research and Development Center at KMITL Prince of Chumphon Campus. The project was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Komsan Maleesee, President of KMITL, together with Prof. Dr. Kasem Soytong, Director of the KMITL Research Institute of Modern Organic Agriculture(RIMOA), and Mr. Dmitry, representative from Fort Argo.

This center will focus on research, development, and knowledge sharing of cocoa production in Thailand. It will support the full process—from selecting cocoa varieties and improving fermentation standards to developing high-quality products for the global market. A key highlight is the traceability system, which allows consumers worldwide to track the origin and quality of Thai cocoa with confidence.

The project also aims to build strong networks with local communities in both the northern and southern regions of Thailand, creating a sustainable cocoa supply chain and helping Thai products compete at the international level.
